Prema Ramaswamy

Prema Ramaswamy, 87, died on Friday, December 19, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on November 14, 1938 to the late Bhooma Ramaswamy and Parthasarathy Raghavachari in Chennai, India.

Prema was a devoted wife, a loving mother and an exceptional grandmother.  She always found time to share her love with family and friends. Prema was a great cook.  All who knew her will remember her as a gentle and kind woman with always a beautiful smile on her face.

Prema is survived by her beloved daughters Hema Ramaswamy and husband Bruce Stewart, Sudha R. Anand and husband Anand, Usha Rangarajan and husband Rangarajan and Jaya Ramaswamy, her cherished grandchildren Anirudh Anand and Varun Rangarajan, her dear sister Radha Rangarajan and brothers R. Ranganathan and P. Sampath Kumar.  She is predeceased by her husband Ramaswamy Srinivasan, her parents and a brother.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, December 23, 2025 from 8am to 10:30am at India Funeral Service 416 Bell Avenue, Raritan, NJ 08869 (908) 429-0800 followed by a cremation 11:30am at Franklin Memorial Park, Rt. 27, No. Brunswick, NJ.
