Moti Badlani, 88 years of age, passed away on Tuesday, May 30th, 2023 at Morristown Post Acute Medical Center. He was born on April 5th, 1935 in Larkana, Sind to the late Jethanand and Lachmi Badlani. He was one of six siblings, with Mohan and Inder preceding him in death, leaving Durga, Ashok, and Asha as his surviving siblings.
As far as we can remember, Moti always had a jovial attitude toward life, making the most out of every day, especially with his family. He married Raj Badlani in 1963 and had two children, Anita and Deep. Moti was involved in working for the Indian government for almost 35 years before moving to the United States to ensure a better and bright future for his kids. Before joining the Department of Home Ministry in the government of India, he worked as a United Nations representative for the Indian government and was assigned to a special team in Saigon, Vietnam after the war. In 1988, he moved his family to the United States where they settled in New Jersey.
Moti deeply appreciated the little things in life, finding joy in his wife's homemade cooking, savoring a piece of dark chocolate before bedtime, and immersing himself in the world of music. His passion for music was evident as he couldn’t resist dancing to the rhythm whenever a song played, experiencing an almost youthful bliss, and finding solace in the enchanting melodies. However, nothing brought him greater happiness than the presence of his grandkids, as their company filled his heart with love and joy.
Moti leaves behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by his beloved wife, Raj, their two children, Anita and Deep, and five adoring grandchildren: Sumaya, Neha, Saira, Nikhil, and Neel. Additionally, he is survived by numerous siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who held a special place in his heart.
The sorrow we experience as a family is immeasurable, but it is surpassed by the immense love we hold for the life Moti lived. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
Viewing will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023, from 10:00-12:00PM at India Funeral Service 416 Bell Avenue, Raritan, NJ. Cremation service will be 12:30PM at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, 95 Mt. Airy Road, Basking Ridge, NJ.
