Kashmira B. Saraiya, 77, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026. She was born on August 30, 1948, in Bombay, India, to her loving parents, Shantaben and Navinchandra Shah.
Kashmira was a quiet, caring, and loving woman who cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing the lottery, investing for a rainy day, and was an active member of the Somerset County Senior Citizens. Kashmira was proud to be an American citizen and deeply appreciated the culture and opportunities of the United States.
She was a devoted wife and loving mother to two children, as well as a beloved grandmother to four grandchildren. Kashmira’s warmth and gentle nature touched everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her son, Mrunal (Asavari) Saraiya of Hillsborough, NJ; her daughter, Shefali (Samir) Shah of India; her two brothers, Viren (Bhavana) Shah and Bharat (Dharmagna) Shah of India; her sister, Pratima (Mukund) Shah of Little Falls, NJ; and her cherished grandchildren, Aadit Saraiya, Anvi Saraiya, Shlok Shah, and Simran (Apoorv) Shah.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 48 years, Dr. Bhupendra Saraiya, who passed away on January 17, 2017, as well as by her parents.
Kashmira will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
