Darshan Kapur

Our beloved mother Darshan Kapur left us on November 14,2022 at the age
of 86. She leaves behind her son Sandeep, daughter Ashu, daughter-in-law
Poonam, son-in-law Sanjeev, and grandchildren Srishti, Sidharth, and
Ananya.

Our mother was born in Sangla, Punjab in un-divided India on May 13th,
1936 to Shri Kedar Nath Khanna and Shrimati Vidya Khanna. She grew up in
New Delhi where she attended St. Anthony School, and then went to
Miranda House, University of Delhi where she majored in Mathematics. She
married our father Late Shri Anand Sarup Kapur in October 1959.

Our parents lived in Gole Market, R.K.Puram and then finally retired and
moved to Saket, New Delhi. They focused on providing the best education
and life to their children, while always welcoming family and friends with
open arms. Our mother always remembered birthdays and anniversaries of
entire family and loved calling everyone and wishing them on their special
day. She had a knack of remembering numbers. She always knew the
favorite dishes of all her nieces and nephews that she loved to cook when
they visited.

In 2006, our parents transitioned to living in the United States. They both
found a passion for reading. Our mother also enjoyed watching movies,
Pakistani plays and short films. She enjoyed cooking and always knew the
favorite dishes of each of her grandchildren. She connected very well with
her grandchildren around food. Whenever they learnt to cook anything new,
they always enjoyed sharing it with her.

Our mother was a hardworking considerate person. She led a very active life
and never wanted to depend on anyone. She exhibited immense patience
and maintained a composed demeanor during tough times. She will continue
to inspire the people who touched her life.

A private cremation will be held with family and friends.

To honor Darshan Kapur’s memory, we are holding a celebration of her life
on November 19th at noon at 151 Preakness Circle, Branchburg, NJ 08876.
